I work in innovation. Yes, the word that everyone now wants to have in their job title, in their business strategy, in their project name. But what does it really mean? To me it means “creativity in ACTION.” It’s about getting inspired, creating alone or together and then rallying around ideas to spark people to implement new and sometimes scary solutions, to both problems we know that we have, and problems we didn’t even know we had. In this first blog I would like to explore some of the beliefs, cultural attributes, behaviors, and activities that I witness inside organizations around the world, that foster or inhibit innovation from actually coming to life.
I founded Bamboo Worldwide, where our mission is to support organizations in bringing BIG ideas to life. I’m damn lucky to do this fun work with amazing people, and I’m on a mission to help people have more fun at work, because I believe when they are having fun, and expressing their creativity, their true selves shine.
